Because of where I work and where I go out, Soho features heavily in my diary: so I thought I'd dedicate a page or two to my favourite area of London. There are many reasons that Soho is my favourite part of London, firstly it's a little village in the middle of the city, where diversity and creativity reign supreme. Many people associate Soho with the sex trade, although this is true to an extent, it's only scratching the surface of an area which is rich in my humble opinion is the most cultured area of London bar none.

The people who inhabit the other "square mile" of London couldn't be a more diverse group: from the media type's in TV and film production, the market traders in Berwick Street with the cacophony of customers, the new media masses, the fashion luvvies, the huge gay community, and the countless 'punters' drawn to the seedier side. They all make Soho the noisy, ever busy full of life area that people fall in love with.

The community in Soho is one of the strongest in London, we drink together, sunbathe together, sit around a watch the world go by together, protest together, drink… (I've mentioned that one already) and have coffee with each other. When you've worked in Soho for as long as I have, you know people's names, you know that Margarita in the coffee shop on Wardour Street love's chocolate chip cookies, and the guy that delivers the sandwiches love's to sail model boats on the serpentine in summer - this community is something that I've not come across in any other part of London.
